Chemo Day
Designer drugs
This week I felt like a school kid, getting ready for school. Packing a bag for treatment day- blanky, warm socks, Ipad and tea flask.

The treatment plan is: Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy. Very nice and expensive designer drugs.

The chemo the medical aid will happily foot the bill for, but immuno is out of pocket- Eina! Like wine Club Husband said, I should have had an early midlife crises and insisted upon a designer dress instead of the designer drugs. Even Versace would have been cheaper.

Even though if I would have set my sites on an overpriced dress, Jannie would have had me committed. I normally get a lot more excited about getting new hiking shoes than any other clothes. (Oeee, I did buy a new hiking shirt this week- to protect the skin against the harsh and lovely African sunshine)

“…treatment got pushed to next week. “

Thank you very much for everybody that has raided their piggybank to contribute to the immuno, and to Rare Diseases for admin-ing all this!!

Years of slogging up and down Jan Smuts avenue is getting handy now 😊

Unlike the school kid, who really wishes that the next day is the proverbial snow day, I was really bumped when treatment got pushed to next week.

But all is now on track for treatment next week! Ready to get all pumped up.

Now to get the next volunteer for this weekend’s forecast of hiking.
